Using the Library

Becoming a Member:  Library cards are free to anyone who lives, works, attends school or pays local property taxes in Halton Hills. To obtain your card, you need to present identification that confirms your name and current address. Your card can be issued immediately, and can be used at both the Georgetown and Acton  Branches.

Discovering the Collections: The Library offers a wide range of popular fiction, magazines and newspapers, up-to-date materials on timely topics as well as local history materials. In addition to print materials, the library has large print, books on tape, CDs, DVDs, and electronic resources (online databases). More on Electronic Resources...
Using Information Services: The Library's skilled, friendly and efficient staff assist people of all ages in finding answers to any kind of question. We can help you search the collection, and guide you in the use of the Internet and other electronic resources. If material is not owned, staff can try to borrow it for you from another library. Using Library on Wheels - we make house calls. This service brings library materials to people who are not able to visit the library due to age, ill health or disability.
